The Mitre Players is one of the leading amateur dramatic groups in the South East, winning the South East Drama Festival many times, and regularly presenting summer productions at the prestigious Minack Theatre in Cornwall.
The Mitres present a full range of productions, from one act plays to complete Christmas shows (NOT to be confused with pantomimes!)
The 21st Century was welcomed with an 'original' pantomime entitled "The Millennium Dame", which featured every panto character from the past century, plus a few new ones. With music by Colin Warnock, written by Paul Beard and directed by Kelly Beard, the show was a great success.
Since then, the Mitres have continued to present a variety of productions, and in 2002 are taking "Honk - the musical" to the Minack, the open air theatre in Cornwall.
The Mitre Players now have their own web-site, to be found at www.themitreplayers.com. Here you can find full details of past and future productions, plus contact information.
